Bburago Rolls Royce Camargue 3001, 3003

Having invested a lot of my time lately tracking, listing and buying these elegant models I thought I would give it a shot at trying to document them in a serious way. Before and while preparing this page I have been to many swapmeets hunting for them, viewed many lists from different collectors, used my fax machine and telephone intensively, read and sent an uncountable amount of e-mails, used many Bburago original catalogues and carefully checked the models in my own private collection. This still did not make it any easier. The jungle and maze of information and the amount of conflict between collectors' lists and knowledge of these models is staggering. Quite a few collectors viewed their list as the holy Grail and dismissed all other information whether genuine or not.

The problem is that there are a dozen official lists, each and every one different, yet at the same time all correct!! It is understandable that each collector wants to protect the integrity of the information on certain series of the Camargue, specially if they own the models in question. On the other hand a few collectors have been very open-minded for the benefit of all Bburago collectors and ultimately the benefit of all collectors. My attempt here is to try to make a list with all and any collector that wishes to participate in order to obtain a more reliable documentation on these fine models. I am not saying that my attempt will fare any better than the others, neither that this is the absolute, official Camargue list. The truth is there is no official list, not even Bburago themselves have one, or at least they say. All I am trying to do is start a base documentation that is more or less reliable and that can grow. That is why links to all series are not yet complete, even though information on those particular models is available but not proven either with pictures or more reliable information than just a quick e-mail. All collectors are welcome to participate in the completion of these listings. Preferably by providing pictures of boxed exemplars.
